Unilever research
William Hesketh
lever was the original founder of Unilever in the late 19th century.
William Hesketh lever was also the founder of the Lever bros before it
eventually became Unilever. Unilever wasn’t formed until the 1930’s.
The first
product Lever produced a new soap product which promoted personal hygiene in
the 19th century. In the early 1900’s the company were mainly
producing products like margarine and soaps, later expanding into the food
market in the 1940’s. 40 years later the company was considered as one of the
biggest in the world, mostly due to their expansion into different markets
leading them to further success.
In the later
1990’s the company would expand into central and eastern Europe, though they
were continuing to focus on fewer products, a decision they had made in the
late 1880’s.
This is the company’s current logo.
In the 21st
century the company has focused on all new types of products and working with
different brands, mainly in products that help people look good and feel good.
Unilever is
currently working with brands such, pro activ, flora, and sure, all products
aimed at healthcare and personal hygiene. In recent years Unilever has focused
more and more on everyday household products, it would be hard to find a
product or brand which they work with that you wouldn’t recognise. Most of the
products and brands which Unilever work with are centred around food, home care
and personal health care.
Below are some
images of the brands which Unilever currently works with.
